Post One, Precis

1) John Harwood in his web article "Romney Is Latest in a Long Line to Trip Over a Tongue" (2012) lends support to Romney after a tongue tie-up that lead to nagging critics and smear campaign ads. 2) Harwood creates this support by making a bullet-ed list of examples of other election candidates for the past 10 elections, some who had been elected and some who hadn't. 3) Harwood's purpose is to generate the idea that everyone talks too fast at some point in order to create sympathy for Romney so people won't pay attention to smear ads and commercials 4) He creates a laid back tone towards an audience of Romney supporters.

I thought this piece was intriguing because I have never read an article where the author just lists a few facts and supports the theory that pretty much Romney is a human and everyone talks too fast at least once. I found it really interesting how he described each of the tie ups that the candidates experienced.
